About This Project

The brief called for the expansion and modernization of the existing train station to accommodate new electronic speedgate machines and facilities. During the initial design investigation, the existing heritage buildings proved too small and historically sensitive to work in. It therefore become essential to design a new structure that would facilitate the modernization of the train line but still relate and tie back to the past. Not able to physically touch the old, concrete wraps were introduced to visually link the old and new providing a new entrance portal in and out of the station.
